I helped shape Wix's AI mobile app builder by crafting concise, engaging microcopy that empowers users—no technical skills needed.

The project involved designing an interactive question flow that guides users smoothly and encourages them to customize their AI-generated app. The copy keeps things simple, highlighting AI’s magic without technical jargon. A key part of my role was working closely with developers on prompt engineering to ensure the AI’s responses were helpful, engaging, and on-brand.

Intro

My goal was to clearly communicate the value proposition – effortless app creation – while maintaining Wix's signature approachable brand voice. The copy encourages user engagement by highlighting the ease of the process and emphasizing the user's ownership of the final product.

Onboarding

This screenshot showcases the interactive questioning process within Wix's AI app builder. After initiating the chat, users are guided through a series of concise questions designed to gather key information about their app. The conversational tone ("Hi!", "Great name!", "Got it.") creates a friendly and encouraging atmosphere. User responses are clearly displayed, allowing for easy review and edits. The interface also offers helpful options like 'Help me answer,' 'Skip,' and 'Rephrase question,' ensuring a smooth and user-friendly experience. The conversational tone and positive feedback help to maintain user interest and motivation throughout the onboarding flow.

This screen demonstrates my approach to crafting clear and concise microcopy within a conversational UI. Each question is designed to elicit essential information without overwhelming the user. The use of positive reinforcement ("Great name!") and encouraging phrases ("Got it.") contributes to a supportive and motivating user experience.

Funnel completion

This screen marks the culmination of the onboarding flow. Having gathered the user's preferences, the interface transitions to the app generation stage. The microcopy reassures the user ('You're all set!') and clearly communicates the next step with a prominent 'Generate App' call to action.

Loader microcopy

These loader screens demonstrate a thoughtful approach to managing user expectations during the app generation process. Instead of simply displaying a generic loading animation, the microcopy provides specific, step-by-step updates on the AI's progress. This transparent communication reassures the user that the system is actively working on their request, reducing potential anxiety and maintaining engagement during the wait time. The active voice ("Processing your answers," "Designing your app") reinforces the system's activity, while the concise phrasing avoids unnecessary complexity.

Post generation editing

This screen marks the successful completion of the AI-powered app creation process. The user is presented with a polished and functional app, ready for further customization. Clear calls to action, such as 'Change Header Design,' encourage immediate engagement with the editing tools. The interface effectively balances visual appeal with informative prompts, guiding the user towards refining their app and ultimately publishing it.
